Hive Commando

Hive Commando is a pixel-art action game for players who want a stranger mix of shooting and strategy in their adult games. It plays things straight even when its own premise seems unsure of itself.

Story

Ikti, one of the Serrate Hive's top infiltrators, died on a mission and did not come back the way she left. What happened to her, and what it left behind, is something the game raises without fully answering.

Gameplay

The core loop pairs a top-down shooter with light real-time strategy: players fight through enemies directly, then pause the action to issue orders on an in-game map. Combat and tactical planning trade off constantly, so success depends on managing both at once rather than favoring one system over the other.
