Hakoniwa

Story

Hasebe Masaaki takes a summer job at the Hinomori mansion on the invitation of his classmate Haibara Ao. After breaking an expensive item, he finds himself deep in debt, and the household's head, Hinomori Kohaku, offers a wager: win, and the debt disappears; lose, and his life belongs to her. What starts as a single gamble pulls in Ao, Kohaku, head maid Towa, Kohaku's daughter Shuka, and the rest of the household, turning the mansion into the center of a much longer entanglement.

Gameplay

Players move through the story via dialogue and choices that shape which of the household members Masaaki grows closer to, with decisions branching toward different endings. Progress is tied to how relationships with the mansion's residents develop over the course of the summer, framed through the visual novel's linear scenes and periodic decision points.
