UC8 is a 3D visual novel for players who want a grounded, character-driven adult drama with a slice-of-life feel. The tone leans personal and low-key rather than fantastical.

Story

After his divorce, a man transfers to manage a small movie theater in the college town of Renwick to start over. Once there, he learns that his high school sweetheart died a year earlier and that he has a daughter, Kayla, he never knew about. He finds her living in a motel, raising her younger half sister alone, and brings both girls to live with him so Kayla can attend the local university, forcing him to figure out fatherhood, his new home, and his new job all at once.

Gameplay

Play unfolds through point-and-click navigation and dialogue choices as the protagonist settles into life in Renwick, managing the theater staff and getting to know his daughter and the people around them. Scenes are told through 3D character art and animation, with the story advancing episode by episode as new characters and situations enter the man's life.
