Overview
The Null Hypothesis is a comic-inspired dating sim for players who enjoy character-driven school settings with a bit of superhero flavor. The tone stays light and playful even as it leans on familiar comic-book drama.
Story
After a violent encounter with an ancient, malevolent entity awakens dormant powers, the protagonist is brought to a school run by Charles Xavier, where mutants are trained to control their abilities. Among the staff and students are Storm, Rogue, X-23, and Jean Grey, each with her own opinion of the newcomer. As the protagonist settles in and larger events unfold beyond the school's walls, those early impressions shift, testing how far each relationship can grow.
Gameplay
Players guide their character through school life, choosing how to spend time and who to approach, with dialogue and actions shaping how Storm, Rogue, X-23, Jean Grey, and others respond over time. A character-creation step lets players shape their own mutant before stepping into the sandbox-style routine of classes, training, and social encounters. Repeated interactions and key events gradually shift relationship standing, opening or closing paths with each character.
Features
- Character creation lets players define their own mutant's look before entering the story
- Multiple romanceable characters drawn from the X-Men roster, each with distinct attitudes toward the protagonist
- 2D character art with animated scenes throughout
- A dedicated system for mending strained relationships between characters
Installation
1. Extract and run.
