ShelterRE is a 2D management sim for players who want moral-choice-driven adult drama layered over a surveillance mechanic. The tone stays tense and morally uneasy throughout.

Story

As the landlord of an apartment building, the protagonist also serves as a government monitor tasked with watching tenants for suspicious behavior. Every report to the military police, or every secret kept in exchange for leverage over a tenant, pushes the story toward one of several possible endings. Neglecting these duties carries the risk of being branded a traitor and executed, keeping the stakes personal as well as political.

Gameplay

Play centers on managing the building day to day while deciding how to handle each tenant's secrets: report them, ignore them, or use blackmail for personal gain. Regular military police inspections force the player to balance appearances with private schemes, and each decision shifts the protagonist's morality meter, which in turn shapes later events and the ending reached. The loop combines light management tasks with observation and choice-based consequences rather than combat or exploration.
