Shapeshifter

Shapeshifter is a text-based Twine adventure for players who like adult visual novels with a puzzle-like edge to their seduction. The tone is calculating and a little tense, built around watching someone closely and adjusting.

Story

A shapeshifter is sent into the king's court with a single goal: kill him and take his place. Getting there means figuring out what the king actually wants first, since his preferences are never quite the same twice.

Gameplay

Each playthrough generates a different set of tastes for the king, so the player spends their time observing, testing, and taking notes on what draws him in and what turns him off. Choices ripple outward, changing the people around the court and even details of the shapeshifter's own body, like whether they carry piercings. Progress hinges on reading the king correctly and adapting form and behavior to match, working toward one of two possible endings.
