Pinewood Island is a horror visual novel for players who want tension mixed with romance rather than straightforward dating sim comfort. The tone stays uneasy throughout, balancing dread with quieter character moments.

Story

A science program brings a group of students, their professor, and his T.A. to an isolated island for a four-week study of local plant life. After a beach party, the professor is found dead, and the group discovers the phones are dead and no boat will arrive until the program's end. Cut off with no way to call for help, the students must figure out who is responsible while living alongside each other for weeks with no way to leave.

Gameplay

Players guide their character through the four weeks, choosing where to spend time and who to grow close to while gathering information about the professor's death. Decisions carry weight: some choices deepen relationships, others expose the player to danger, and mistakes can end a playthrough early. The game tracks multiple paths through its cast, leading to different endings depending on who is trusted and what is uncovered.
