Overview
My Second Life is a visual novel sandbox for players who enjoy slow-burn slice-of-life stories with a shy, awkward lead. The tone is grounded and character-focused rather than fast-paced.
Story
A socially awkward young man leaves home for Dolton University, where he knows no one and has to navigate a new house full of unfamiliar residents. Between classes and daily life under one roof, small missteps and awkward situations keep pulling him into more than he bargained for.
Gameplay
Players move through a sandbox structure, choosing how to spend time and who to approach as the protagonist settles into university life. Interactions with housemates unfold through dialogue and observation, with an emphasis on watching and reacting rather than direct confrontation, gradually opening up new scenes as relationships develop.
Features
- Real-life-rendered visuals built on 3DCG and photo-based art
- Text-driven exploration of a shared house setting
- Voyeurism-tinged interactions layered into everyday routines
Notes
This build is an early-stage release focused on introducing the house, its residents, and the game's systems rather than delivering extensive adult content or a fully developed story yet.
Installation
1. Extract and run.
Changelog
v0.1.1
- ️ Landlady Visual Overhaul (Still In Progress)
- One of the ongoing improvements has been visual consistency among NPCs — and Landlady got a major facelift. Most of her images have been refreshed to better match the tone and quality of the game. A few are still pending, but the difference should already stand out.
- Two New Scenes for Landlady
- There are now two new interactive scenes featuring Landlady — each with branching paths and varied outcomes based on your choices.
- More personality, more tension, more fun. Enjoy exploring them!
- Why There Aren’t More New Scenes (Yet)
- Truth time: most of this cycle was spent fixing bugs — especially in the interaction systems. Features like “Talk” were breaking or acting unpredictably, and stabilizing them took a lot more time than expected.
- The good news? The next batch of scenes is already written.
- Now it’s just a matter of refining and integrating them — and I’m aiming to have that done within the next 2–3 weeks.
- Next update focus: pure story content. No new systems — just characters, choices, and deeper world-building.
- New Activities at Home
- You’ve now got more ways to spend time around the house:
- Read books in the library
- Watch TV in the living room
- ️ Eat meals in the kitchen
- Small additions, but they help round out the daily routine and add a bit more immersion to your surroundings.
- Phone Unlocked — With New Features!
- The in-game phone is now fully available and includes a few fresh features:
- ⚙ Settings menu — for customizing phone-related options
- ️ Wallpaper system — change or unlock new looks
- ✅ Daily interaction tracker — toggle widgets that help you track repeatable actions
- Note : The Cheat Menu is not included in this update.
- However, it is available as a bonus feature for VIP Member and Insider patrons in higher-tier builds.
- If you're on one of those tiers, you'll have access to tools that allow greater flexibility, testing options, and gameplay shortcuts.
- ️ Map Improvements + NPC Status Tracking
- The map’s been tweaked for a smoother, more intuitive experience.
- And now you can check NPC status directly from the map — super helpful for planning interactions.
- Early Preview: School Map
- The school area has been added, but treat this as a preview — it’s not fully functional yet. Still, it gives a hint of what’s to come.
- Update [0.1.1] Recap
- This update focuses on tightening the core systems, enhancing visual consistency, and adding more immersive content.
- Now that the tech groundwork is stronger, I can shift toward more frequent and focused narrative updates.
