Overview
How to Fix the Future is a story-driven visual novel for players who want sci-fi romance with a grounded, personal starting point. The tone stays character-focused even as the stakes grow larger than its protagonist expects.
Story
An ordinary young man stuck in a dead-end retail job and late-night gaming finds his life upended when mysterious game disks appear worldwide and two agents from the future seek him out. Drawn into a conflict tied to the nature of time itself, he must navigate choices that ripple across both the present and the near future, meeting a range of women along the way whose fates and reactions shift depending on what he decides.
Gameplay
Progress unfolds through narrated scenes and dialogue choices that shape how relationships and events develop over time. Decisions carry weight beyond the moment, altering later scenes, unlockable content, and how certain characters respond based on the player's accumulated choices. The pacing favors reading and decision-making over action, with animated scenes marking key story beats.

- Added glossary section to the information screen.
- Added check boxes to the replay gallery. Multiple check boxes mean there are extras in the scene that can be unlocked. It mostly depends on previous decisions that you've made, but also sometimes on character score, depravity or virtue.
- Added a new choice during the club event. If you pick Riley after Cathy, you can now refuse to be intimate with Riley. That choice will appear only if you’re on Cathy's path and told her you’re a couple. I strongly recommend replaying this scene if you’re on this path, as the decision you make will matter later, and the game will check it.
- Added discord rich presence support. If you don't want to share your activity, you can disable it in discord privacy settings.
- Added a new icon to show when the game is in "slideshow" mode. Click it to pause on the current render, and click again to resume. This feature is currently available only in one scene of this update. I’ll extend it to previous "slideshow" scenes in the next update.
- Added "pet names" for Octavia and Liu in the new lewd scenes. What that means is you can now change how you call your LI's or how they call you during lewd scenes. For now, only in certain scenes of this update. In the future, I plan to rework previous lewd scenes and add them there too, expand the feature to other characters, and add the ability to change them via the character screen.
- Fixed typos and rephrased\improved some dialogues.
- Minor changes and fixes to previous scenes. Don't require starting a new game.
