Overview
Heartsteel is a 2D adult fantasy RPG for players who want a slow-building romance set against a divided world. The tone leans earnest and character-driven, with combat and adventuring layered on top.
Story
A lone human farmer breaks the unspoken rule between his people and the elves when he finds Asha, a dark-skinned elf left wounded and abandoned by her own kind. Sheltering her is a crime among humans and a betrayal in the eyes of other elves, but he hides her anyway. As farm life fails to support them both, the two take to the road as adventurers, her identity concealed beneath a cloak, and what begins as survival slowly turns into something closer to trust and intimacy.
Gameplay
Players guide the farmer and Asha through a sandbox world, splitting time between farm upkeep, turn-based encounters with monsters and mercenaries, and story-driven exploration. Choices and interactions build the bond between the two leads, unlocking new scenes and dialogue as their relationship develops. Combat is turn-based, giving the adventuring segments a distinct rhythm from the slower, dialogue-heavy moments at home.

- Scene Improvements: All scenes have been completely reworked and improved. Animations now feature a smoother speed buildup system for a more dynamic and immersive experience.
- Enhanced Gallery System: The gallery has been expanded with all available speed variations for each unlocked scene. A new X-Ray toggle option has also been added directly within supported gallery scenes.
- X-Ray Feature Added: X-Ray mode is now available in the game and can be enabled during specific scenes for an alternate viewing experience.
- Return to Dunswell: After completing the prologue, players can now travel back to Dunswell. Explore new locations, visit newly added shops, and discover additional character interactions.
- Main Quest Continuation: The story continues with new main quest content, expanding the narrative and introducing new objectives for players to complete.
