Overview
Hearts in the Shadows is a 3D visual novel for players who enjoy morally murky romance stories with a slow-burn edge. The tone stays personal and quiet, even as its themes turn uncomfortable.
Story
Trevor, a final-year psychology student, has never fully dealt with a deep personal loss. His instinct to protect the people around him has curdled into something more controlling, and he starts nudging the choices of those he cares about without their knowledge. The result is a story about closeness built on manipulation, where good intentions and selfish ones become hard to tell apart.
Gameplay
Playing as Trevor, you move through a school-centered sandbox, building relationships with the women in his life while managing how much influence you exert over them. Conversations, observation, and small decisions shape how each connection develops, pushing routes further toward genuine intimacy or quiet control. Progress unfolds through repeatable interactions and branching events tied to individual characters rather than a single fixed path.
Features
- Multiple women with distinct branching storylines that respond to Trevor's choices
- 3D-rendered scenes with animated sequences shot from several camera angles
- A corruption-driven psychology angle that colors ordinary school-life interactions
Installation
1. Extract and run.
