Overview
Demonheart: The Cursed Trial is a visual novel for players who like dark fantasy romance paired with combat. It moves between tense confrontation and quiet moments of trust, without ever settling into comfort.
Story
A girl carrying a demonic heart finds herself confined with a group of strangers she has every reason to doubt. When a demonspawn appears, murders follow, and no one's motives stay clear for long. She has to work out who among her fellow captives can be trusted, who might be worth loving, and whether either is possible while staying alive.
Gameplay
Play centers on dialogue choices that shape which captives grow closer and which are pushed away, alongside combat encounters tied to the unfolding murders. Choices carry weight across the story, branching toward different endings depending on who the protagonist trusts and how the fights are handled.
Features
- Branching narrative with seven distinct endings
- 2D character art built around a fantasy setting
- Combat encounters woven into the murder-mystery plot
- Romance paths that intertwine with the search for the killer
Installation
1. Extract and run.
Changelog
vlatest
- V 1.39
- Chapter 7 is now included in the game (as of version 1.36)
- The total word count is now over 160.000 words
- The game now has 7 endings, other than the couple of "bad endings" it had in an earlier chapter
- A small feature added: A triangle button in the lower-right can hide the UI, in addition to middle clicking
- V 1.33
- I've been polishing the existing content in various places.
- One scene that got some new lines is a scene in Chapter 4 where the main character thinks about Vita in a nostalgic way. I realized this was another instance where your relationship points should be taken into account, so I've added some new conditional lines. Now hopefully, if you don't like Vita, the scene will sound more creepy and less nostalgic. And if you have some Evil points and low "Vita Approval", there will be a new line mentioning her "annoying face."
- V 1.32
- In this update, I've edited and polished some lines in the existing chapters for better flow. The meaning has stayed the same.
- The only exception is a line that used to say the city of Ravage "was already a ruin" by the time MC was born. This was supposed to refer to the sad state of Ravage as seen in Demonheart: Hunters, but it sounded misleading. It made some players wonder if Janiya is old enough to have visited Ravage before the MC was born, which was not the intention.
- Stay tuned as we work on the final chapter, and thank you for your patience!
