Dearth S

Dearth S is a 2D adventure RPG for players who want a dark sci-fi setting with monster-girl companions and text-driven storytelling. The tone is grim and tense, with moments of teasing warmth between the heavier themes.

Story

In a world where the human population is collapsing, women choose only Alpha males to reproduce, leaving lower-class men shut out entirely. In response, the Alliance rose up and warred against the Alphas, and its Four Great Doctors created Synonyms, women bonded to a single man from birth, as a way to give the lower classes a future. When the Alphas discovered the incestuous bond behind these Synonyms, they struck back hard enough to send the Doctors into hiding, halting all further creation. You play a member of the Alliance searching for the one Synonym born for you, a search that turns out to carry far more danger than expected.

Gameplay

You explore ruined maps, talk through branching text-based dialogue, and manage encounters with the monster girls tied to this world's broken reproductive order. Progress is driven by story cutscenes and choices rather than open exploration, with RPG-style ability and combat elements built around a Synonym companion who grows stronger through a gacha-based pull system. Shops and NPC interactions add small side loops between story beats.
