Overview
Cultist Crush is a text-based visual novel for players who want a gay dating sim with a mischievous, self-aware streak. It stays light and character-focused rather than dramatic.
Story
Cast out of Hell and stripped of his old status, an Incubus Prince takes over a human body and ends up in the small town of Weyrwood. To claw his way back to Hell and settle a score with his father, he needs to gather arcane energy the only way he knows how: by winning over the people around him.
Gameplay
Play unfolds as a sandbox where you move around Weyrwood, choose who to approach, and build each relationship through character-specific dialogue and interactions like jokes, compliments, and flirting. Progress with each local is tracked separately, with scenes unlocking as trust and interest grow. Different characters can lead to different outcomes, giving the game multiple endings depending on who you pursue and how far things go.
Features
- Dialogue and reactions written per character rather than pulled from shared response pools
- 2D character art that updates as relationships progress
- Multiple romance paths with their own pacing and payoffs
- Adult content woven into the relationship system rather than kept separate from it
Installation
1. Extract and run.
Changelog
v0.1.2
New content:
- Freddie: 18 new scenes. 6 Tease, 6 Touch, and 6 Strip. By the end, you can see Freddie naked.
- Todd: 12 new scenes. 6 Tease and 6 Touch. No Todd nudity yet, that's 0.2.
- Eugene: Small polish passes.
- Systems rework
- Interactions are now character-specific. No more generic shared response pools. Every Joke, Compliment and Flirt is written for the character you're talking to.
- Discoveries gate interactions. Learning about characters unlocks new ways to interact with them. You'll pick up the basics naturally, but exploring opens more.
- New Character Profile. Tracks Discoveries, Outfits and Scenes you've unlocked per character.
- Reaction rewards now scale with rarity. Pulling off a rare response from a character (right time, right place, requires specific Discoveries) gives double Attraction. Mix up your topics and locations, you'll progress faster.
- Groundwork for Gifts, Secrets and Hidden Interactions is in. You won't see the full payoff this version, but the systems are ready for the next update.
- Temporarily removed
- Skills. Coming back in a different shape to make them more useful. Back in the next version.
- Player Profile. Tied too closely to Skills. Coming back alongside them.
Bug fixes:
- Scenes not marking as seen, time not advancing, Discoveries not unlocking properly.
- Eugene acting like he was at work when he wasn't.
- Missing assets: Mr. Burger day image, some of Freddie's outfits.
- Missing options in the mobile menu.
- "Character is sleeping" page stuck in a single column.
- Zodiac sign missing from the character Info panel.
- Todd's progression softlock.
