Crane's Romantic Nightmare is a 2D adventure for players who like their romance laced with dread and monster-girl horror. It plays out calm and unsettling by turns, never quite letting the player feel safe.

Story

Crane wakes from a strange dream to find a woman in his bed who insists she is his childhood friend and lover, though her face and history mean nothing to him. A figure watching the house from the woods sends him outside to search for answers, and what he finds there begins to unravel how he ended up in this life at all.

Gameplay

Crane explores the woods and surrounding areas on foot, piecing together clues about his missing memory while avoiding or confronting the strange things that live there. Combat encounters break up the exploration, pitting him against monstrous threats tied to the dream logic of the story. Conversations and choices with the woman claiming to know him shape how much of his past he recovers, and how their relationship develops.
