Overview
Confessions of a Sassy Girl is a 3D visual novel for players who want a grounded, character-driven school story with a wry sense of humor. It plays quiet rather than flashy, favoring personality over spectacle.
Story
Ami wants nothing more than to stay unnoticed and get through school without incident. That plan falls apart when Jessica transfers in, loud, confident, and set on becoming Ami's best friend whether Ami agrees or not. What follows is a coming-of-age story about being drawn out of a shell by someone who won't take no for an answer, and the shift in Ami as she starts to enjoy the company she once resisted. Optional paths let this friendship take different shapes, including one where Ami questions her feelings toward Jessica and another where she explores brief, casual relationships with other people, neither written as fantasy or romance, but as part of Ami figuring herself out.
Gameplay
Player choices shape how Ami responds to the people and pressure around her, steering the story down one of two branching paths on a given playthrough. There's no combat or resource management here, just dialogue-driven scenes and decisions that determine which version of Ami's arc you see. Progress is told through 3D animated scenes from a first-person perspective, keeping the focus on character reactions and mood rather than mechanics.

- A note on structure
- This update branches based on your previous choices. You'll experience either the straight or queer path in a given playthrough, not both. They run parallel to each other, so if you're wondering why you can't access the other route, that's intentional. I've added a Story Path Selector to the main menu to solve exactly that.
- A note on save compatibility
- Shortly before this release I discovered a bug that made old save files incompatible with this build . I spent a significant amount of time chasing what turned out to be an irreversible issue before accepting there was no clean fix.
- The result is the Story Path Selector , a Quality-of-Life feature built to get you back into the story where v0.8 begins, without replaying everything from the beginning. It's not a perfect substitute for your save, but it carries over the choices that matter and drops you straight into v0.8. Just answer a few quick questions about your previous playthrough and you're back in business.
