Coffee Story

Coffee Story is a 2D adventure for players who want surreal horror mixed with body-transformation themes. The tone stays unsettling and dreamlike rather than lighthearted.

Story

A young man wakes from a strange dream to find himself slowly turning into a girl he met there, and the changes keep bleeding into his waking life. To keep the transformation from becoming permanent, he hides behind a fake identity as a new girl at school while looking for a way to reverse it. Along the way he leans on Yuri, Kari, and Nanami, each of whom has their own uneasy connection to the dream world: Yuri's recurring nightmares, Nanami's need to escape her hard reality through dreaming, and Kari's fractured, hidden state of mind.

Gameplay

Play moves between waking life and dream sequences, with puzzle-solving and exploration used to uncover what's causing the protagonist's transformation and how far it will go. Choices and discoveries in the dreamworld carry consequences back into reality, pushing the body-horror and corruption elements further the deeper the player digs. Time is split between navigating school life under a false identity and venturing into monster-filled dream spaces to find answers.
