Overview
Clown Squad is a 3D dating sim for players who like sharp humor mixed with monster-girl harem routines. The tone leans cynical and self-aware rather than sweet.
Story
The protagonist is built to entertain a world that only rewards flattering lies, but he's incapable of telling any. Cast as a clown expected to perform jokes and comfort with dishonesty, he instead responds to everything with blunt, unfiltered truth. That mismatch between what he is and what he's forced to be drives his choice going forward: give in to the role he was handed, or push back against the world that assigned it.
Gameplay
Play unfolds as a kinetic-style visual novel following the protagonist through encounters with a cast of monster girls, told through 3DCG scenes and narrated text. Progress is largely linear, moving from one scripted scene to the next, with the humor and honesty of the main character shaping how each exchange plays out. Choices lean toward tone and dialogue rather than branching paths or resource management.
Features
- 3DCG art built around a harem cast of monster girls
- Writing centered on dry, cynical humor rather than typical romance-sim politeness
- Parody framing that treats the "class clown" role as its own kind of trap
Installation
1. Extract and run.
Changelog
v0.1
- Regarding the progress: due to some real-life matters, I had to adjust my plans a little.
- As a result, the remaining part of the renders and text has been moved to the next chapter, which, if everything goes well, should be released in about a month. That said, even in its current form, the chapter should take around 3-4 hours to complete, which I personally think is pretty decent (For that amount of time, 2 month?)
- Now, about this part of the act itself. For the most part, this update is focused on developing three girls:
- Alice, the catgirl. Rose, the android. And... just Lena.
- I also tried to reveal a little more about the main character here and there, but that’s more of a side note.
- The main problem of our beloved space opera, Astreon, has been completely removed here: the pacing.
- This time, the pacing feels quite solid, and I’d say it’s probably one of the biggest improvements compared to the previous version.
- Though, of course, that’s not really for me to judge.
- As for the translation, I’ll try to translate the game into Chinese before the release, but I can’t guarantee the quality of the translation.
- After that, I’ll pass the simplified version to the translator.
